Six up for stealing electric cables worth P1.5m

The state alleges that Batswana nationals Mmusi Kelapile, 28, Mothusi Lesole, 38, Fetogang Mathunya, 31, and three Zimbabweans Nxobizitha Ncube, 23, Petros Moyo, 26, and Bhekinkosi Ncube, 27, stole the cables between the months of June and September 2013 at the new Francistown Stadium.

Prosecutor Mothusi Dintwa told the court that he still had to peruse the documents and amend the charge sheet.

Dintwa did not oppose bail to be granted to all the Batswana accused but applied for the three Zimbabweans to be remanded in custody.

The fourth accused person, Nxobizitha, pleaded with the court to request the prosecution to expedite the case because he wished to enter a plea.

His Zimbabwean counterparts told the court that they did not have anything to say concerning the application for their further remand.

The accused are due in court  tomorrow.
