BPL chief executive officer Bennett Mamelodi said the meeting would go ahead this time around as the rules specified that it could proceed even with the absence of sufficient numbers.

The meeting was postponed last December due to failure to form a quorum. Top of the agenda will be the audited 2012 financial statements and the contentious broadcasting rights.

The BPL and state broadcaster, Botswana Television (Btv), signed two-year broadcast rights deal.

However, the local station has only paid P3 million of the P6 million agreed over two years and the BFA is pursuing the issue in order to have Btv remit the remaining P3 million

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) initially signed an agreement with South Africa's pay-per-view channel Supersport for broadcast rights in a cash-less deal. The deal was later nullified and Btv was preferred.

Premier League action will continue this weekend with a full programme after a brief festive break. Although teams have begun strengthening their squads, as the transfer window is open until the end of January, Mamelodi said no official deals had been registered with the BPL office.

Meanwhile, the case in which Notwane is seeking to reclaim the club from executive chairperson Gift Mogapi was postponed from yesterday to Friday at the High Court. Notwane sold 80 percent of its shares to Mogapi at the beginning of the season but a series of alleged contractual breaches prompted supporters to reclaim ownership.
