Lizibo, Tebogo Mathiba Lead BOMU Nominations

Lizibo earned four nominations for Best Afro-pop, Best packaged album, Best newcomer, and Best male artist category.
Tebogo Mathiba has been nominated for Best afro-jazz,Best music video, Best DVD, and Best Album.
House sensation La Timmy, Rap star A.T.I, gospel group, Shummie and the Transfiguration, along with jazz singer Kearona Rantao, RnB newcomer D-Nice, gospel musician and producer Tshepo Lesole,Traditional music icon Shumba Ratshega and kwaito star Vee follow with three nods each.
Another gospel group, A re gopoleng gospel boys also notches three nominations for Best newcomer, Best traditional gospel and Best group.
Shummie and the Transfiguration have been nominated for Best contemporary gospel, Best packaged album, Best album. The nominees were unveiled on Friday at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC).
Chama gal’s Ekentolo album has notched two nominees for Best Mosakaso and Best Group. Gospel singer Suggie Fisher has been nominated for Best female and Best contemporary gospel
D-Nice is nominated for Best RnB, Best newcomer and Best female, Rantao is nominated for Best packaged album, Best album and Best female while Vee has been nominated for Best kwaito, Best DVD and song of the year award.
However Vee’s Eita, has a strong competition in song of the year from the latest Shumba Ratshega craze, Loso La Ga Monna-Mogolo, which has earned him three nominations in song of the year, Best male artist and Best traditional. Btv Flava Dome DJ La-Timmy’s Nanzala Vuke also earns La Timmy three nominations (including Best video) along with DJ Guoviea Mdana for song of the year and Best DJ.
A.T.I who performed at this year’s Big Brother, has been nominated for Best male artist, Best album, and Best hiphop artist. Tshepo Lesole’s three nomination comes from Best producer,Best music video,
Other categories had only one artist making the cut, these include Rock n’ Roll award which goes to Tacheba, Best reggae nominee Jahman States, Best raga nominee DT, Best RnB D-Nice, Best house kwasa Mlavita and Best ordinary accapela St Anthony Church Choir.
The Best mosakaso nominees are Eke Ntolo, MC Maswe and Beauty Angels while the best dikhwaere nominees are Gong Master and Molete. Best traditional nominees are Ratshega, Maghebula and Jojo while Best folk nominees are Matsutsuru Polka Band, Benson Phuthego, Lekgotla and Kgaladua.
Best Afro jazz nominees are Thabang, Tebogo Mathiba, The Pegos and Rantao while Best Afro pop nominees are Benny Sekgwa, Lizibo, Tshenolo and Tatoo. Best kwasa kwasa nominees are Tumza and The Big Bullets, Ded-Coh and Kgalagadi Express. Best hip pop nominees are HT, K-Bos, FPMG and A.T.I while Best contemporary gospel nominess include Shuggie Fisher, Kagiso D, Vusi Mtokufa, PS. Shumie and Transfiguration.
The Best house nominees are DJ Fondo Fire, DJ Gouviea and Karl’De while the Best kwaito nominees are Vee, Mzilo, Lecco and Dispstrada. The Best traditional dances nominees are A re Gopoleng Gospel Boys, Re Metswalle, Micah Meshark and Edward.
The Best DVD nominees include Vee, Ounah, Edward, Tumza and The Big Bullets while music video nominees are La-Timmy for Nanzala Vuke, Tebogo Mathiba for Thari Ya Sechaba, K-Bos for Dimakatso and Tshepo Lesole for Nkabo Ke Le Kae. Best producer nominees are Tshepo Lesole, Joel Rebaone Keitumele, Suffocate and Gorden Seokolo and the Shumie and Transfiguration, Rantao, Lizibo and Benson Phuthego.
The public will have a chance to decide the winners in specific categories such as;
Best newcomer: Lizibo, D-Nice, Are Gopoleng Gospel Boys, and FPMG
Best album: PS. Shumie and Transfiguration, A.T.I, Kearoma Rantao, and Tebogo Mathiba
Song of the year: DJ Guoviea - Mdana, La Timmy - Nanzala Vuke
Vee Mampeezy - Eita, and Shumba Ratshega - Loso Lwa Monnamogolo
Best DJ: DJ Fondo Fire, La Timmy, DJ Guoveia, and DJ Riley
Best female: Kearoma Rantao, D-Nice, Kagiso D, and Suggie Fisher
Best male: Tebogo Mathiba, Lizibo, A.T.I, and Shumba Ratshega
Best duo or group: A Re Gopoleng Gospel Boys, Matsutsuru Polka Band, Eke Ntolo, and FPMG
