Ditsebe recently featured in an exhibition organised by Organic Root Stimulator from South Africa.  The exhibition’s intent was to inspire local hairdressers with potential to turn professional and attain high levels of innovation. Her modelling stint is, she says, something she never thought of venturing into.

“I never imagined I would find myself in hair modelling one day.  I am honoured to have had such an experience,” Ditsebe tells Showbiz.

Though her reign comes to an end this weekend she believes she has done all she could ‘under the circumstances’.

She represented the country well by returning home with two awards in the international version of the pageant.

And at home she rounded off her tenure with a video presentation that Miss Earth has been using on their university tours around Gaborone.  The promotional video is being used to inform students on activities Miss Earth is involved in. It also shows its history and touches on what the pageant is about.

She believes more could have been done but the challenge she faced was of funding.

“There were a lot of projects that we had planned but some of them could not be done because there was no money. But overall, I am happy and looking forward to hand over the crown to the new Miss Earth Botswana,” she says. While appreciative of the good that she was able to achieve during her reign, she had to reflect on her challenges too. Ditsebe only managed to participate in the international stage of the pageant after the Miss Earth Botswana organisers managed to secure on her behalf an air ticket at the 11th hour.

Though she did well in Philippines on November 24, 2012, she says that she had travelled to the pageant without most of the required items on her.  To make matters worse after the pageant her luggage was stuck in the Philippines airport for several months.  She was unable to pay off the balance that was needed to courier home her luggage. The reigning Miss Earth Botswana was given extra gifts, therefore her luggage exceeded the baggage limit for the airline she used. She will be handing over the crown at a local edition of the pageant on Saturday. Judges will pick another young woman to represent the country at the 13th edition of the international pageant.
