Flames beat Splinters in F/town derby

The victory kept a confident Flames in the race to finish in the top four when the unsponsored Botswana Basketball Association (BBA) League.

Before a capacity crowd at the Donga Barracks in Francistown on Saturday morning, Flames emerged the winner in the last minute in a game that could have gone either way.

From the first whistle, both sides employed caution and defended in numbers. They seemed keen to avoid defeat at all costs before the home crowd. The cautious approach by the two sides meant that scoring proved difficult in the game. Thus the first set ended with Flames leading 7-6. 

The second set was more open and Splinters got the better of Flames in a 34-30 result. In another game played at the same venue, Flames beat Jwaneng Bullets 64-52.
