However, they have not been able to get all their transfer wishes. They set their targets as high as Premier League talent during the just ended transfer season.
One of their targets was former national team marksman Tshepiso Sox Molwantwa. The Notwane striker was reported to have been keen on dropping to the lower division but the move did not materialise. Letlapeng technical director Butler Sello said they were very serious about registering the former Township Rollers goal poacher whom they believed would effectively lead their title challenge.
'His age was the reason we wanted to register him because we need someone who can lead our youngsters upfront. He might have slowed down a little bit but Sox is still a quality striker. He could help shape our strike force but we cannot cry for spilt milk. We still have to win the league. I think Notwane were clever and they offered him better things when they realised we were about to snatch him away,' Sello said.
However, the Coca-Cola Cup quarter finalists managed to register at least five players with Premier League experience. They finally got David Teenage Tsalaile despite months of denial that they wanted the veteran. The outspoken defender made the move after falling out of favour at Extension Gunners, which did not register him for the Premier League at the beginning of the season.
Letlapeng also secured the services of Katlego Koobake from Gunners. Other new recruits are Olefile Lochia and Mpho Radikara both from Notwane while Oageng Keorapele is on loan from Uniao Flamengo Santos. 'Now we are ready to win the league and get promoted to the Premier League. We have assembled a good team, made all the necessary reinforcements with the registration of these new players and I do not see any reason why we cannot challenge for top honours,' Sello said.
'I know it would take more than just a big squad to win games because other teams are also aiming for the same spot but we have proved that we can seriously compete. We are aiming higher now.
Because we have both quality and depth in our team, we should make it,' Sello said. However, he decried the fact that the heavy rains have seriously affected their preparations after the Christmas break. He said the coach needs time to get the new players to gel.
