Week's finest moment

Finest athletes
The women's Under-20 soccer team did the nation proud when they beat Namibia 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier on Friday. It was a refreshing win considering the poor performance of local teams and athletes at international competitions recently. To the 'golden girls' we say go out there and bring a result in Namibia. The nation is behind you.

Week's disappointment
A bunch of players from both Extension Gunners and Notwane for fighting over a water bottle. A mere water bottle was seen as possessing magical powers to influence the outcome of the match. Hard work, determination, skill and zeal will win you matches. NOT a water bottle.

Talking point
The laisser-faire attitude of both government and Botswana Football Association (BFA) in trying to lure 2010 World Cup teams to camp here. It is disgusting and shocking that there is no plan or strategy in place. BFA president David Fani and Sports Minister Shaw Kgathi, we know you can do something, but please do it now, and do it publicly because this is an issue of public interest.

The stat
Zero (0) the number of clubs that have stated their desire to camp in Botswana ahead of the 2010 World Cup.

Week's quotable quote
'They were no longer playing football after their player was sent off,' Mochudi Centre Chiefs coach, Wesley Mondo after the game against ECCO City Greens in Francistown.
