Batswana too civilized for intelligence bill

Tyrants begin in small ways. Who imagined 25 years ago that Robert Mugabe would become the No. 1 enemy of his own people. A liberator and now oppressor of the very same people he liberated.

If this Bill becomes law, this will be the beginning of the end of our beloved Botswana. This Bill should never be allowed to become part of the laws of Botswana. Batswana are too civilized for this kind of rubbish. Our leaders whom we entrusted to look after our interests now appear to be hell bent on jeopardizing our future and our children's future. The legislation that they intend to enact is a fodder for tyrants.

I urge all Batswana to stand up and say to hell with this law. We cannot destroy what our founding fathers worked so hard to preserve. Sir Seretse Khama did not see the need for this law despite the fact that we were facing real security threats at that time. Not even Sir Ketumile.
