Moloi who has been at the centre of dispute between the two clubs regarding his controversial transfer to Chiefs did not only deliver a good pass for the opening goal but scored a cracker in the match.
The ball wizard was declared a free agent by the Players' Status Committee this year after Notwane were adjudged to have not complied with the contract they signed with him.
The club was found at fault for failure to pay the player some of his monthly salaries. On Saturday, many had thought that Chiefs' coach, Beston Chambeshi would start him on the bench but the Zambian mentor decided to throw Moloi in the deep end and the former national Under-23 player never disappointed and won himself the man of the match award.
With favourites, Gaborone United (GU) not playing, Chiefs took advantage and climbed to the summit of the Premier League log standings.
They now have 50 points from 21 matches while GU have collected 49 points from 20 matches.
On Saturday, Notwane were the first to get a real chance when Langson Sichola found himself unmarked in the box but he wasted a glorious opportunity by shooting wide when he had only the goalkeeper to beat.
Minutes later, Chiefs' striker, Derrick Ntumbayi saw his effort missing the target by a whisker. Notwane goalkeeper, Botlhe Moralo who has been in top form in the past few matches showed his brilliance once again towards the end of the first half. He made a double save to deny Mpho Mabogo and Pontsho Moloi.
Chiefs made double substitutions early in the second half with Othusitse Pilane making way for South African player, Tshweu Makhoere and Oteng Moalosi replacing Ntumbayi.
Notwane took out Barnes Radipotsane and introduced Jackie Mothatego. In the middle of the second half, Dirang released a good ball to Makhoere and the substitute made no mistake.
Mothatego had a glorious chance minutes later to level the score but his weak shot was easily saved by Chiefs' goalkeeper, Noah Maposa.
Dirang put the game beyond Notwane's reach when he scored a cracking goal after a good interchange of passes between Chiefs' forwards.
As if that was not enough, Notwane saw their midfield sensation, Galabgwe Moyana going out with injury. The youthful player has been in great form this season.
