The event is organised to celebrate Babirwa culture, traditions and heritage. The Lotsane Safaris pledge is part of the company's continued support for communities in the Bobirwa region. The contribution is intended to assist the organising committee in hosting the event, which will celebrate local culture, traditions and heritage while bringing together community members, traditional leaders and invited guests. The Motlhabaneng Cultural Heritage Organising Committee, represented by Kgosi Bethuel Machete, expressed appreciation for the company's generosity.
The committee noted that the financial assistance and game meat would contribute to the successful hosting of the event and help meet the needs of participants and guests. Meanwhile, Lotsane Safaris has confirmed the purchase and full payment of two additional Starlink satellite internet systems for installation at Lentswelemoriti Community School and Semolale Junior School.
The equipment has been purchased, while installation is expected within the next few weeks. The initiative is expected to improve internet access at the two schools, enabling learners and educators to access online educational resources and benefit from digital learning opportunities. The installations will build on the company's existing efforts to expand internet connectivity across Bobirwa, where it has previously supported Starlink installations at other schools and community institutions. Beyond cultural heritage and digital connectivity, Lotsane Safaris' community support programme in 2026 includes improvements to school facilities, educational assistance, donations of game meat and equipment, and the provision of a vehicle to support local policing.
The initiatives form part of the company's voluntary efforts to strengthen relationships with communities surrounding its operations and contribute to local development. Through engagement with traditional leaders, schools and community organisations, Lotsane Safaris says it aims to support initiatives that deliver practical and lasting benefits to residents of the Bobirwa region.
