Dintleonthetrack becoming undeniable

Determined to let music speak: Balole

Determined to let music speak: Balole

However, as fate will have it, years later that same kid is releasing under the name Dintleonthetrack while making sure people also meet the person behind the music. His path started with pure curiosity. He learnt production early, a decision he still calls the smartest move he ever made. It let him write, record and shape his own work instead of waiting for permission. That independence took him into sessions with artists like A.T.I., who first knew him as a producer back in 2015. Those collaborations remain important, but Balole is clear about where his focus sits now.

The artist-cu-producer respects the work he has done for others. He is equally serious about the catalogue that carries his own name. Recent releases show the range he is chasing. Ineele Sepe, produced by Tlotlo Mogotsi, leans into reflection and feeling. Rejection is harder and more personal. Balole handled the vocals, beats and engineering alone. The song speaks to being doubted and compared, yet it also carries a quiet defiance: setbacks do not have to end the story. They can become the reason you work harder.

The response to both records has confirmed something he has long believed. There is space for music that feels honest. Fans can expect more of that honesty. An EP is due before the year closes, and next year he plans to drop his first full debut album. After years of EPs and mixtapes, the shift feels deliberate. He wants every release to reveal another side of who he is while still sounding unmistakably like him. He is also learning the limits of doing everything alone. Perfecting a mix all day leaves little time to push the music, build relationships or grow an audience.

The goal now is a team that understands the vision so he can spend more time being the artist. Looking back, he wishes he had been more intentional earlier about strategy and the right connections. Talent, he has realised, is only part of the equation. His advice to young Batswana creatives is straightforward. Learn the business side, distribution, royalties, publishing, how to protect your work.

Be patient with yourself. And do not sit around hoping to be discovered. Work until you become undeniable. At the end of the day, Dintleonthetrack is the name on the tracks. Balole is still the person figuring things out, still learning, and still determined to let the music speak for both of them.
