Mojaki leaves BFA

Mojaki was appointed to the position under the Maclean Letshwiti administration in 2019, with a specific mandate to oversee the management of the national teams. He became the first person to occupy the newly created position at the BFA. The former radio broadcaster confirmed in an interview this week that he is leaving the association to pursue other challenges. “I will miss all the boys and girls I worked with. My motto was, ‘no players, no football,’ so every day presented new administrative challenges with the players. It is special not to predict how work will be tomorrow. Guiding a national human being is always the best thing,” he said. Mojaki credits himself with bringing “order, calmness, planning and improving logistics” to the national teams. “I stopped the frequent strikes in the national teams and made the players understand the pride of the national team,” he said. Although his next venture will take him away from football, Mojaki has not ruled out a return to football administration. “To be honest, I am taking a very good break, but I would love to be in the BFA National Executive Committee one day. I don’t want to be shy and apologetic about the experience amassed,” he said. Mojaki recently completed a master’s degree in sports management. His tenure at the BFA included overseeing the Zebras and Mares campaigns at the Africa Cup of Nations and Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals, respectively. He was in Libya and Tunisia this week, overseeing his final assignment as the Zebras produced spirited performances against both North African sides. Botswana held Libya and Tunisia to 2-2 draws, collecting two points to move to the top of Group H as a promising campaign got underway, as one of its loyal foot soldiers prepares to exit the stage.
