The session brought together media representatives for an intimate preview of the event, allowing them to sample a selection of wines that will be featured during the main experience on October 17.

Guests had the opportunity to engage directly with wine distributors, learning about the origins of the different wines, their tasting notes and what distinguishes each selection.

Grand Palm Head of Marketing, Malebogo Motlaleng, said the initiative was designed to introduce guests to the experience while encouraging them to appreciate wine beyond its consumption.

“Today, it’s not just about drinking the wine. It’s learning a few new tricks about it,” she explained during the session.

Motlaleng said Grand Palm has a wide portfolio of wines and that it would be difficult to feature every selection on its wine list at one event.

“We thought, you know what, let’s do an event where people can get to explore a few wines, see and have conversations,” she added.

Motlaleng noted thatthe experience would also give guests an opportunity to understand how wines are produced and how best to enjoy them.

“How can I best consume this wine? What process went into making this wine? So today, it’s not just about drinking the wine. It’s learning a few new tricks about it,” she said.

The hotel is partnering with Lengau Liquor Distributors, whose representatives will guide guests through the wines available during the event.

Motlaleng told the media that a new mimosa wine will be introduced as part of the experience, describing its arrival as an opportunity for guests to be among the first to discover the new selection.

“You’re the first people to actually lay your eyes on it. And it is a mimosa,” she said. She added the event was also timely as people prepare for the festive and hosting season.

“It’s hosting season. So learn, learn, learn it when you’re interacting with your people,” Motlaleng said.

The Wine Cellar Experience, themed “Sip, Savour, and Discover,” will take place on October 17 at the Grand Palm Boma from 12:00 to 23:00.

Tickets cost P250 per person, inclusive of a light snack, while Winners Circle members get a 10 percent discount on two tickets.
