Driver dies in Gabane head-on collision

No.13 District Traffic Officer, Superintendent Obonetse Matshego, said the crash occurred when one of the drivers attempted to overtake, resulting in the head-on collision.
“The Toyota driver, who had sustained serious injuries, was certified dead by doctors upon arrival at Nkoyaphiri Clinic,” Matshego explained.
“The bus driver, a 44-year-old man, escaped with minor injuries,” he added.
Following the accident, Matshego has urged motorists to exercise caution when overtaking.
He stressed that drivers should only overtake when the road ahead is clear and it is safe to do so.
Matshego warned that reckless overtaking remains one of the major causes of fatal road accidents and appealed to motorists to avoid taking unnecessary risks on the roads.
