Spring arrived at Avani Gaborone Resort and Casino on Saturday with the return of Bubbles & Bites, bringing together food, music, fashion and lifestyle in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Now in its second edition, the event offered a laid-back take on brunch, with guests enjoying the sunshine over glasses of Bernini Mimosa, the event’s drink partner, while classic R&B provided the soundtrack.

The atmosphere was social and unhurried, with guests moving between the outdoor space, food stations and brand activations.

Nora Cosmetics and Clicks were amongst the event's partners, bringing giveaways and seasonal offerings focused on beauty, skincare and spring-ready looks.

Food was central to the experience, with a selection of bite-sized savoury and sweet offerings designed for easy sharing.

The menu included mini beef sliders, vegetable quiche bites, beef meatballs with BBQ dip, mini chicken wraps, chicken sesame satay skewers and crispy crumbed prawns with sweet chilli.

The sweeter selection featured fresh fruit skewers, mini chocolate éclairs, assorted cupcakes and smoothies, giving guests plenty of options to sample throughout the afternoon.

According to Samantha Bogopa, Public Relations and Marketing Executive for Avani Gaborone Resort and Casino, the concept is built around bringing food and drinks together in an intimate social setting.

“The idea behind it was to fuse food and drink lifestyles in a relaxed environment with great conversations,” she said.

Bogopa said the event returned after a pause and was designed to create an experience around food and drink rather than a conventional brunch format.

This year’s collaboration with Bernini Mimosa follows an earlier partnership with Annabella, while the involvement of brands such as Nora Cosmetics and Clicks adds a lifestyle element to the gathering.

She also indicated that Avani plans to continue developing the concept, with more editions expected and opportunities for different brand and drink partnerships in future.

For its second edition, Bubbles & Bites kept things simple: good food, music, drinks and an easygoing crowd enjoying one of the first warm weekends of the season.
