Radisele Bishop found dead in apparent suicide

It is alleged that on Friday, the 51-year-old Bishop sent a text message to one of his friends. He said in text that, “Botshelo jwa lefatshe le le ka kwano bo mpaletse, ke ya go leka bosele,” loosely translated as, “Life in this world has become too difficult for me, I am going to try another one.” The friend reportedly became concerned after the deceased failed to answer his subsequent phone calls. Along with others, they began searching for him and later reported his disappearance to the police.
Palapye Police Station commander, Superintendent Koziba Phuluweni, revealed that police launched a search after receiving the report. He added that the Bishop was found later that same day hanging from a tree at the top of a hill outside Radisele village. “He had used a wire to hang himself,” Phuluweni said when confirming the incident. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death with Phuluweni urging anyone who is experiencing emotional or personal difficulties to seek help rather than resorting to taking their own lives. He encouraged those facing challenges to reach out to trusted family members, friends, religious leaders, counsellors or other support services for assistance.
