Ramotswa Police Station assistant commander, Assistant Superintendent Otlaadisa Mogotsi, said the number of suspects involved was not yet known.
According to Mogotsi, the employees told police investigators that the suspects were armed with knives and an object resembling a firearm.
“They said there were many of them. We do not know their exact number or how much money was stolen yet, but investigations are ongoing,” he said when confirming that the matter was under investigation.
“They allegedly threatened the employees with knives and something that resembled a gun, tied their hands and legs and took all the money.”
He revealed the suspects managed to escape and are still at large, whilst police have launched investigations to identify and arrest them.
Mogotsi appealed to members of the public to come forward with information that could assist police in tracing the suspects.
Police are also expected to establish the exact amount of money stolen and the circumstances surrounding the robbery as investigations continue.
