JW’s ‘Eternal Happiness’ conventions off to great start

The second convention, the programme of which will be in English, will be held at the University of Botswana Sports Arena, starting this Friday through Sunday.
“Who doesn’t want to be happy?” asked Jonnah Pongaponga, spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses in Botswana. “This year’s convention theme discusses how to be happy and how to remain happy. All in attendance will discover the real joy that comes from a solid hope for the future.”
The convention will feature a blend of engaging discourses, video presentations, and interviews, all rooted in scriptural principles. Amongst the highlighted talks are sessions titled 'Abundant Happiness Forever – Is It Realistic?', 'Why Are You Anxious?', and 'Have You Discovered the Treasure?' – each designed to address everyday challenges with timeless wisdom.
A major highlight of this year’s event will be the debut of Episodes 4, 5, and 6 of the video series 'The Good News According to Jesus'. The 18-episode series, which offers a faithful, Gospel-based portrayal of Christ’s life and ministry, will be released on consecutive days of the convention.
The Saturday programme will also include a baptism ceremony, a cherished tradition for the faith community.
The convention moves to Francistown next week. The ongoing conventions are being presented in Setswana, Kalanga, Botswana Sign Language, and English, ensuring broad accessibility. Jehovah’s Witnesses rank among the world’s largest non-profit convention organisers. Last year alone, they hosted over 6,000 conventions in nearly 500 languages globally, under the theme 'Pure Worship'.
This included 19 international conventions held across 13 countries, drawing a cumulative attendance of more than 12 million people. With this year’s focus on happiness, organisers anticipate even larger crowds.
