GENERAL MANAGER

BUTCHERY & MEAT PROCESSING

LOCATION: Gaborone, Botswana

THE ROLE

We are seeking a General Manager to lead a butchery and meat-processing facility

in Gaborone. This integrated senior role combines operational leadership, strategic

procurement, production management and yield optimization across the full

value chain - from carcass sourcing and cold-room deboning to finished-product

manufacturing.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• At least 10 years’ relevant experience in butchery and meat-processing

operations,

• Demonstrated success leading large-scale whole-animal deboning and

high-volume meat-manufacturing operations.

• Advanced knowledge of beef, pork, lamb and poultry processing.

• Strong understanding of primal-cut yields, carcass costing, mass-balance

calculations and shrinkage control.

• Experience in value-added meat products, product formulation and

production planning.

• Sound knowledge of HACCP, hygiene, food safety, traceability and cold-

chain requirements.

• Strong leadership, staff-management, problem-solving, stock-control,

costing and waste-reduction skills.

• Computer literacy and the ability to prepare accurate operational and

management reports.

QUALIFICATION

A recognized qualification in Butchery Management, Meat Science, Meat Processing,

Food Technology, Production Management or a related discipline will be an advantage.

REMUNERATION
