Two pedestrians injured in separate road accidents

The duo were allegedly hit by vehicles whilst attempting to cross the road.
Police say the incidents occurred at Ledumadumane and Ralekgatshwane lands, with both pedestrians reportedly hit by Toyota Hilux vehicles.
In the first incident, an eight-year-old boy was hit near Shell Filling Station in Ledumadumane after attempting to cross the road.
No.13 District Traffic Officer, Superintendent Obonetse Matshego, said the minor was in the company of other children who had already crossed the road when he attempted to follow them.
“The little boy is currently hospitalised but in a stable condition at Princess Marina Hospital whilst investigations into the matter are ongoing,” he said.
In a separate incident, a 37-year-old woman was hit by another Toyota Hilux whilst attempting to cross the road at Ralekgatshwane Lands along Kopong Road around 6:45pm on Friday.
Matshego added the woman sustained a fractured left leg and a head injury.
“She is currently hospitalised at Bokamoso Private Hospital,” he said.
Matshego expressed concern over the continued occurrence of pedestrian-related road accidents, urging both motorists and pedestrians to exercise greater caution when using the roads.
As a result, he appealed to motorists to remain vigilant, particularly in areas where pedestrians frequently cross the road.
The traffic chief also urged pedestrians to ensure that it is safe to cross before stepping onto the road.
