F Ismail group gives Marina’s paediatric ward a lifeline

The donation, handed over at the hospital this afternoon, included medicines for high blood pressure, heart conditions, epilepsy and iron supplements, among others. Speaking during the handover ceremony, an emotional Principal Pharmacist (I) at Princess Marina Hospital told those gathered that the donation had come at a critical time. She revealed that earlier that same morning, she had been forced to turn away a patient who needed high blood medication because the hospital had none in stock. She said some epilepsy medicines had been out of stock at the hospital since last year, making the donation especially meaningful for both patients and health care workers. Acting Hospital Superintendent Dr Mosimanegape Nkwane thanked the F Ismail Group for its continued support, saying the hospital did not take such assistance for granted. “This is not the first time you have assisted us, and we do not take this for granted. Saving one life at a time is our utmost priority. As you are aware, the country is currently facing challenges, and as we try to resolve these matters, donations like these go a long way. As one of the busiest hospitals in the country, we are truly thankful,” he said. For his part, Faizel Ismail of the F Ismail Group commended hospital staff for their dedication and encouraged them to continue serving Batswana, even under difficult circumstances. “We are aware of all your sacrifices, and we would like to thank the staff,” he said. The group has previously donated to the hospital and has vowed to continue supporting Princess Marina throughout the year.
