TSW App puts culture at the heart of travel

At its core, TSW delivers the practical essentials that are often scattered or hard to find. Users get one-tap emergency contacts for hospitals, police, and embassies, a real-time currency converter for the pula, and a Local Guides section packed with articles on customs, etiquette, night driving rules, veterinary fences, water safety, plus curated Top Ten lists covering premier safari spots and hidden gems.
The platform, whose name is shortened from Tswana, is expanding further. Future updates will add a digital wallet using a regulated stablecoin for seamless cashless payments and a merchant Marketplace, letting tourists easily discover and purchase local crafts, goods, and experiences. This supports both visitors and Botswana small and medium enterprises by reducing friction and creating new economic opportunities.
Inside TSW lives WH&WN! (What’s Hot and What’s Not), a lively cultural guide with its own distinct identity. Built on authentic, community-driven recommendations from Batswana tastemakers, it highlights the latest in nightlife, food, fashion, music, culture, and experiences. Users can submit suggestions that, once curated, appear in the app and on social channels, building a living, evolving resource aimed at the 18–35 creative and social demographic.
Chief Marketing Officer and Brand Director of TemTum Group, Oliver Russell, sums up the thinking behind it: visitors to any country split into those wanting safe, familiar options and those seeking something different. “We need to be able to show them that,” he explains. “I think if people try and find it on their own, they’re going to struggle.”
The real strength of TSW comes from how its elements connect. Top Ten lists benefit both international guests and locals discovering more of their country. WH&WN! gives tourists genuine local flavor beyond standard recommendations. The Marketplace turns inspiration into direct purchases.
TSW opens the door to Botswana, while WH&WN! shows visitors the vibrant scene waiting inside; creating shared, authentic moments between tourists and residents. The app is available now on iOS and Android as “TSW” in the App Store or Google Play.
With WH&WN! live and more features ahead, TSW is strengthening tourism, supporting local businesses, and celebrating Botswana through technology deeply rooted in the country.
