The club has been one of the busiest operators in the transfer market, securing a string of marquee signings that have caught the attention of, and sparked envy amongst their FNB Premiership rivals.
In particular the capture of Mpho Kgaswane from champions Gaborone United (GU) has been the talking point, amidst reports of 'ridiculous' salaries being dangled.
Kgaswane signed a two year deal whilst the club has also secured the signature of Brazilian, John Xavier Da Costa.
Zebras captain, Mosha Gaolaolwe, has joined from Township Rollers and so has Phenyo Serameng from Sua Flamingoes. Chiefs general manager, Owe Mmolawa, said the club's spending reflects the black and white outfit's ambition.
'Our ambition matches the stature and history of Mochudi Centre Chiefs. Every investment we have made is deliberate and aligned with a long term strategy to rebuild the club into a competitive and sustainable institution,' he noted.
'Our objective is to challenge for honours, secure a top finish in the league and compete strongly in every competition we enter and establish a foundation for sustained success rather than a one-season project,' Mmolawa said.
He clarified reports that Chiefs was paying over-the-top salaries, saying the reports were inaccurate.
'Mochudi Centre Chiefs pays competitive and responsible salaries that reflect the value, experience and contribution of individual players,' he explained.
'Every contract is guided by the club's budget, financial planning and sustainability principles. We do not negotiate or discuss individual players' remuneration in public as that is confidential.'
Mmolawa said the Chiefs project does not revolve around what the local league offers, with the champions receiving P1.4 million.
'Our model is not built around the league prize money alone. Football clubs today must diversify their revenue streams through commercial partnership, merchandising, matchday revenue, digital content, player trading, and strategic investments. 'We are building an institution with multiple income streams, which is the only sustainable way to operate a modern football club.'
He said the club's source of revenue is from shareholder investment, commercial partnerships, sponsorship engagements, and internally generated revenue.
Chiefs will head to the University of Pretoria High Performance Centre to continue their pre-season training camp as they attempt to topple double league champions GU.
