Teen charged with rape after alleged attack in Kuke

The suspect allegedly claimed that the two had previously been in a relationship.
Gantsi Police Station Commander, Superintendent Motlamedi George, said the matter was reported by the victim, who told officers that the suspect approached her at the entertainment spot and requested to speak with her.
George explained that the woman agreed to talk to him, but the suspect allegedly became forceful, pulling and dragging her to his residence against her will. Once there, he allegedly raped her, police said.
'The victim later reported the matter to the police, leading to the suspect's arrest,' added George.
He said investigations are ongoing and the suspect has been charged with a single count of rape and is expected to appear before the Gantsi Magistrate's Court for arraignment.
Police have urged members of the public to report all cases of gender-based violence and sexual offences promptly to enable swift investigations and ensure justice for victims.
