Tonota FC reveal CAF ambitions

The team will be making their debut in the FNB Premiership this coming season after winning the First Division North league. Despite their inexperience in competing in the elite league, the Tonota-based side is already dreaming about competing in continental competitions in the near future.
The club’s chairperson, Tumelo Toteng, said their ambition is to play in CAF competitions in the not-so-distant future.
Toteng added that they are not coming to add numbers but to be a competitive side as evidenced by the signings they have done thus far.
“I can promise you that we are going to be very competitive,” he told journalists on Friday.
“Our vision is to be dominant in the future and we are learning from the likes of Township Rollers who have been dominant before.”
Besides new signings, Tonota FC have already tied some of their key players to new deals with Cedric Ramojela signing a new two-year deal with the club. On the other hand, Captain Arnold Mampori has signed a one-year extension.
Mampori was amongst the key players who led the club to its first ever promotion to the Premier League.
Former Matebele FC midfielder, Nonofo Dikutu is amongst the new signings as well as attacking midfielder, Mothusi Ipotseng who previously played for Police XI, Nico United and Enesia FC.
The club has also managed to secure the services of former Orapa United striker, Otiniel Nsunzu.
The Tonota side assembled for pre-season preparations on July 6. Tonota FC are amonstg three two other local clubs, Township Rollers and TAFIC who will take part in the Tati River Cup scheduled to take part on August 8 at Obed Itani Chilume stadium.
The one-day spectacular will feature Zambian giants, Nkana FC.
