1) DEPUTY PROJECT DIRECTOR
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Deputy Project Director supports the Development Director
in driving strategic growth initiatives for the mine, including the
identification, assessment, and execution of development projects.
Acting as the second-in-command (2IC), this role ensures projects
align with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and
industry best practices while delivering long-term value to the
organisation.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Supporting the Development Director in identifying and
evaluating new business opportunities, expansions, and
strategic partnerships.
•
Assisting in feasibility studies, ensuring thorough
assessment of financial, technical, and operational
viability.
•
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate
projects into long-term business planning.
•
Supporting financial modelling, economic assessments,
and risk analysis for investment decisions.
•
Ensuring proper allocation of resources across various
development initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
•
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, business
administration, or a related field.
•
Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is
beneficial but not mandatory.
•
Accreditation in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred
but not essential
•
Minimum 10 years of experience in mining, business
development, or project leadership.
•
The incumbent must have been in the engineering
manager/study manager/Project manager role for at least
3 international copper projects. .

Proven ability to support major growth initiatives in
the mining or industrial sector with a strong strategic

2) MINING CONTRACT MANAGER
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Mining Contract Manager is responsible to effectively
manage the safe, efficient and cost controlled execution of MMG-
Khoemacau’s overall mine plan by the Mining Contractor to the
specified contract standards, mining schedules and best practice
mining systems. To utilize their extensive underground mechanised
mining experience as both a mining contractor and/or as an owner’s
team member, in leading and managing MMG-Khoemacau’s
green fields and brown fields underground mining development
and construction projects and manage performance in mining
production activities (sub-level open stoping operations
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Managing and coordinating all Mining Contracts/
Contractor aspects in collaboration with the Mining
Manager to deliver production in a safe, efficient and
effective manner.
•
Providing support to the Mining Manager and the Mining

project execution plan for the development of the Zone 5
underground mine, then execute a suitable operational
readiness program for transition to production.
Introducing effective and fit-for-purpose management

international best practice.
Managing and coordinating site establishment of
an underground mining contractor, underground
equipment specifications and selection, underground
construction and project work, timely completion of project
development and transition to steady state production
mining activities (as an Open Stoping mining operation).
Managing and coordinating performance management
of a mining contractor; ranging from daily operations
through to periodic planning and forecasting (weekly,
quarterly and annual), cost control, commercial contract
management and reporting as required by company
standards.
Integrating and supporting cross functional mining work
streams of Mining Operations, Mining Technical, Mining
Geology and Mining Maintenance as well as provide
experience and guidance to the team in dealing with
general surface support services and downstream
processes from the mine to improve overall effectiveness
of the operation.
Applying experience in supporting of underground
site-specific equipment specifications and selection,
engagement with key suppliers to ensure required
standards and specifications for underground hard rock
mines are achieved.
Responsible for the implementation of a fit-for-purpose
contractor management system. Identifying, managing
and addressing issues of non-performance or non-
compliance with the mining contractor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
•
BSc (Hons) Geology degree/ BSc relevant degree.
•
Additional specialised training desirable.
•
Qualified for QP sign off.
•
Formal professional or technical registration with an
internationally recognised Geological Body.
•
10 years post qualification experience, with a minimum of
7 years in an underground hard rock mechanised mining
environment (predominantly base metals, or relevant gold
experience).
•
Experience of industry processes, procedures, policies,
and values as relates to exploration.
3) INTEGRATED STRATEGY MANAGER
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to collate and manage Asset Strategy,
the Asset Strategic Level Planning and coordinate the relevant
interactions with the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process
at MMG-Khoemacau, including all facilitation, interconnected
processes (MROR, TRC) as well as managing Business
Improvement (BI) work streams and the operational risk process
and systems. The incumbent will collaborate with the expansion
study team to ensure alignment with asset business plan, studies
and other activities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Collating and managing the Asset Strategic Level Plans
and interconnected activities within the Integrated
Business Planning (IBP) process, at MMG- MMG-
Khoemacau, in collaboration with the Country Leadership
Team (CLT) and Site Leadership Team (SLT).
•
Developing and monitoring common objectives and KPIs
between all strategic planning elements and the execution
of short-term plans, to ensure the Asset Strategy
translates into what operations teams execute daily.
•
Developing technical data management and reporting
system and the implementation thereof.
•
Responsible for the management and collation of
Business Improvement studies to develop business cases
in accordance with the approved Asset Strategy.
•
Interfacing technical specialists with commercial
specialists, to ensure that the Business Improvement
value add / business cases are evaluated with sound
commercial principles, and robust evaluations are
completed to justify changes in business practices, or to
proceed investments in business optimization studies and
sustainable capital projects.
•
Accountable for the management of business
improvement systems in accordance with the Asset
Business Plan and Budget, including development of a
prioritised pipeline of improvement initiatives, coordinating
accountable managers to deliver these, and monitoring
performance against this pipeline as initiatives are
executed.

Accountable for the management of the site’s operating
risk management process and system
•
Accountable for the management of other activities to
support integrated planning, ensuring appropriate MMG
standards are utilized and implemented, maintaining
integrated change-management systems, leading risk
and assurance audits, as well as supporting insurance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

4) PROJECT TECHNICAL SERVICE MANAGER
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Incumbent will oversee all assigned engineering activities
within projects, ensuring they are executed and delivered safely,
efficiently, and on schedule. Their responsibilities will include
reviewing and verifying the technical quality, safety, integrity,
and adequacy of all design engineering work within the project.
Additionally, they will review and approve design development and
process design, define EPCM design deliverables and proposed
design changes, and establish the engineering standards for the
project in accordance with MMG-Khoemacau standards
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Accountable for the technical coordination of the
processing plant, reviewing process flows, equipment
selection, and layouts to ensure technical solutions meet
production throughput and recovery targets.
•
Leading the master layout planning of the mining
area, coordinating interface management between
the processing plant and mining infrastructure (e.g.,
water supply, power supply, maintenance workshops,
warehouses) to ensure efficient connectivity and logistics
between systems.
•
Focusing on the construction completion and
commissioning support for the Paste Fill system,
resolving outstanding technical issues to ensure the
system passes performance testing on schedule and is
successfully handed over to operations.
•
Applying design and engineering expertise to projects that
hold strategic significance for MMG-Khoemacau Copper
Mining, its shareholders, and key stakeholders.
•
Leading the review of design deliverables provided by
EPCM contractors and various disciplines, ensuring
designs meet Owner’s operational requirements,
MMG Group standards, and Botswana local laws and
regulations.
•
Establishing all technical requirements in support of
capital project execution for all engineering disciplines.
•
Developing design and engineering deliverables
for Concept Study, Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility,
Implementation, and Closeout Reports.
•
Developing and implementing a systematic mentorship
program, enhancing the design capabilities and technical
proficiency of local engineers through guidance and
professional training, building a long-term technical talent
pool for the company.
•
Coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary
engineering teams (Civil/Structural, Electrical, Control
& Instrumentation, Mechanical, Process/Metallurgy,
Procurement, and Cost/Schedule).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
•
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
•
Minimum 15 years design and engineering expertise in
studying, designing and delivery of projects within the
construction and/or mining industry
•
Proven track record working in both Owners and
Engineering Management, in Concept, Pre-feasibility,
Feasibility, Execution and Closeout stages of projects.
•
Proven track record in contractor management, using
engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, FEA, CMMS)..
•
Extensive experience in relevant industry and familiarity
with specific technologies, standards and best practices
and must have experience working with management of
the EPCM environment.

Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects
from conception to completion.
5) QUANTITY SURVEYOR LEAD
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
A Quantity Surveyor Lead will be a key member of the project
management team on-site, responsible for overseeing all aspects
of cost management, from initial estimates through to project
completion. They will ensure that projects are delivered on time,
within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The incumbent
will play a crucial role in managing all the financial and contractual
aspects of construction projects ensuring maximum revenue on-
site. This role involves close collaboration with clients, contractors,
and other stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Estimating project costs, including materials, labour, and
equipment.
•
Developing and managing project budgets, ensuring
alignment with financial goals
•
Analysing project designs and processes to identify cost-
saving opportunities without compromising quality.
•
Preparing and managing construction contracts, ensuring
all revenue on a contract is maximized and that contract
quantities are measured correctly and accurately

Cost Control – Draw up subcontract / supplier
agreements, preparing subcontract payments,

6) COST CONTROL LEAD
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
This position is responsible for the overall cost and cost control of
the project, timely statistics and analysis of various project costs, and
regular preparation of various cost reports and statistical ledgers,
project expenses and contract payments, conducting audits, and
the overall communication and coordination of the project activities
between major shareholders and stakeholders.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Implementing statistics on project costs and expenses, and
compiling various statistical reports
•
Making a reasonable analysis of the CAPEX, master the
overall situation of budget allocation, and strictly controlling
the cost of the project within the budget;
•
Preparing the project payment procedure, submitting it to
the control and support manager for approval, and strictly
supervising the implementation of the procedure post the
final approval.
•
Responsible for the cost accounting of all contracts and
reviewing the settlement documents.
•
Participating in the review of changes and statistics as well
as for changes involving budget adjustments,
•
Responsible for providing cost data for reporting by
providing corresponding various project cost and expense
statistics tables in accordance with the corresponding
format.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR

Holding a PMP certificate

7) MINE PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Mine production Superintendent will oversee and manage all
aspects of MMG-Khoemacau’s underground mining operations. The
superintendent oversees all daily underground mining operations,
ensuring that activities are carried out according to the mine plan
and schedules. This role maintains a focus on safety, efficiency,
productivity, and regulatory compliance. The mine production
superintendent leads and develops a skilled workforce and ensures
the effective and efficient use of resources which includes coordinating
with various departments and contractors.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Responsible for effective management of resources such as
equipment, materials, and budget.
•
Overseeing the allocation and maintenance of mining
equipment, ensuring that all machinery is operational and
used efficiently.
•
Managing the financial aspects of the mining operations,
including budgeting and cost control.
•
Collaborating with contractors, mine engineers and all
service departments to develop strategic plans for ore
extraction, ensuring that production targets are met or
exceeded.
•
Monitoring production metrics and adjusting where required
to improve efficiency and output
•
Monitoring adherence to regulatory requirements and
organisational policies across all areas of responsibility,
navigating regulatory frameworks and maintaining
compliance with bilateral agreements.

8) SENIOR PROJECT COORDINATOR
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The purpose of this role is to deliver expansion project development
in MMG-Khoemacau for Feasibility Study (FS) and Construction
phases, accountable for delivering projects in accordance with MMG
standards and procedures on time, within budget and to specification.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Assisting in monitoring the project progress and
coordinating all team members to keep workflow on track.
•
Supporting project control work and participating in the
creation and maintenance of project work documents
(change requests, owner’s instruction etc.) by ensuring all
necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored.
•
Maintaining task cards for sub-projects of KEP, updating the
status of project expenditures, changes, and progress in
real time, discovering deviations in the project through the
calculation of project CPI and SPI in a timely manner, and
reporting the correction of deviations in time.
•
Identifying key issues during the project execution process
and playing a supervisory role.
•
Managing and maintaining risk register, updating new risks
identified by project team members timely, and conducting
regular risk update meetings to discuss the extent of risks
present in the project and control methods with each area
leader.
•
Providing coordination between the team and higher
authorities or third-parties as required, assisting the
stakeholders to better communicate and understand each
other.
•
Assisting in the preparation of various project reports,
organization of meetings and reporting, and providing a true
and reasonable response to project progress, problems and

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR
EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Bachelor’s degree in a mining field (A master’s qualification

Ability to speak both Chinese and English language and
to work under a multi-culture environment and ability to
coordinate multi-disciplined teams.

PMP certificate or equivalent is required.

Good understanding on the FS compilation process.

Experience in facilitation of range analysis and opportunity/
problem framing techniques.

Financial analysis, valuation and business case assessment

9) SENIOR GEOLOGIST
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Senior Geologist will be responsible for managing, leading
and coordinating the underground geological production activities,
including grade control interpretation, modelling, drilling and grade /
tonnes estimation and reconciliation.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Coordinating and supervising all grade control geology
activities, including data collection, auditing and entry into
the site database.
•
Participating in and supervising all aspects of the diamond
drill program, including design, scheduling, planning and
interpretation, estimation for tonnes/grade for production
and ensuring that results are effectively communicated to all
stakeholders.
•
Managing drilling contractors and other geology associated
consultants, contractors and service providers, overseeing
the logging, sampling and assaying of the grade control
drilling
•
Managing the underground mapping of geology,
mineralisation and structures to enable the construction of
representative wireframes
•
Ensuring that all wireframing of geology is carried out
accurately and within production timeframes
•
Participating and supervising in grade control
reconciliations, including mine to mill, stope, resource vs
grade control model and ROM pad
•
Monitoring the quality of assay data and service
performance by the analytical provider
•
Conducting QAQC audits on all aspects of production data
collection and initiating continuous improvement programs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR
EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
•
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology
•
Minimum 10 year’s post graduate experience, with at least
5 of those years in an underground hard rock environment,
and 5 years of production experience in base and/or
precious metal deposits
•
Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Office software and
advanced mining software skills in wireframe generation,
drill program design and geological modelling.
10) SENIOR CHINESE CHEF
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
To prepare and deliver high-quality, nutritious, and safe meals for camp
residents in accordance with approved menus, food safety regulations,
and company standards. The incumbent will ensure efficient kitchen
operations, maintain hygiene and sanitation standards, support
resident wellbeing through excellent food service, and contribute to
overall customer satisfaction within the camp environment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Preparing and serving high-quality meals in accordance
with approved menus, recipes, and nutritional requirements.
•
Ensuring that all food is prepared, stored, and handled
in compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation
standards.
•
Monitoring food quality, taste, presentation, and portion
control to meet company and client expectations.
•
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen
facilities, equipment, and food storage areas.

successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering
and construction management, with a particular focus on roads and
earthworks.

13) MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The role of the position holder will be to lead and supervise a multi-
disciplinary team of artisans and assistants to ensure safe, timely, and
quality maintenance of facilities infrastructure including mechanical,
electrical, plumbing, and structural works.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Allocating and overseeing daily maintenance tasks across
disciplines.
•
Supervising and providing technical support to contractors
doing maintenance.
•
Conducting quality checks on completed jobs and ensuring
compliance with standards.
•
Maintaining maintenance records in coordination with the
Maintenance Manager.
•
Supporting preventative maintenance planning and
execution.
•
Responding for and assigning urgent maintenance issues
promptly.
•
Assisting in onboarding and mentoring of new team
members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR
EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

14) HSE SUPERVISOR
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The HSE Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the health,
safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance and performance of the
expansion project at MMG-Khoemacau Copper Mining. This position
involves close collaboration with contractors, the management team,
and local stakeholders to maintain a safe and sustainable working
environment. The HSE Supervisor will oversee training, reporting,
data analysis, and communication to drive continuous improvement
in HSE standards.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Developing and delivering HSE training and induction
programs for contractor employees to ensure compliance
with project and regulatory requirements.
•
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training
programs and updating content as needed.
•
Collaborating with contractor HSE teams to align safety
practices and ensure adherence to project HSE policies.
•
Acting as a liaison between contractors and the
management team to address HSE concerns and resolve
issues promptly.
•
Preparing and submitting internal and external HSE
reports, including incident reports, compliance audits, and
performance metrics.
•
Analysing HSE data to identify trends, risks, and areas
for improvement as well as developing and implementing
improvement plans to enhance safety performance and
reduce incidents.
•
Facilitating effective communication between contractors,
the local team, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment
on HSE objectives.

Participating in HSE audits and inspections and following
up on corrective actions, assisting in the development and
implementation of emergency response plans.

15) COST CONTROLLER
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the MMG-Khoemacau
expansion project is delivered on budget, perform cost control
functions which include cost estimating and budgeting, cost control,
cash out tracking and monitoring, cost forecasting and analysis,
change management, cash call and reporting.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Participating and assisting in developing detailed and
accurate project budgets.
•
Establishing the project cost baseline and obtaining
approval and endorsement from the project management
team.
•
Implementing a cost control system to regularly (e.g.,
weekly/monthly) track and record all actual project costs.
•
Accurately comparing actual costs against budgets and
forecasts.
•
Analysing cost variances, investigating the reasons for
deviations, and providing clear analysis to the project
management team.
•
Regularly updating the Estimate at Completion (EAC)
based on project progress and trends, collaborating with all
stakeholders.
•
Preparing and submitting cost reports, dashboards, and
presentations regularly, (e.g., weekly/monthly) to clearly
communicate the project’s financial status to the project
management team.
•
Participating in improving cost control processes, tools, and
templates to enhance the efficiency of cost management
across the project team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR
EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering Management,
Civil Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•
Chinese and English language ability to work under multi-
culture environment.
•
PMP certificate or equivalent.
•
At least 5 years of experience in project cost control within
energy industrial projects, experience in Mining industry or
Concentrator Project is preferable.
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP,
advanced charts) for data analysis and modeling.
•
Experience of using ECOSYS, SAP or similar software or
platforms on project execution.
•
In-depth understanding of project management and cost
control principles, methods, and best practices (e.g.,
Earned Value Management - EVM).

Experience with specialized project management/cost
control software (e.g., Oracle Primavera P6, SAP, MS
Project, Power BI).
16) EXPEDITOR
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of
materials, equipment, and documentation from suppliers to the project
site or production facility. This role acts as the critical link between
procurement, engineering, project management, and vendors,
proactively tracking orders, identifying potential delays, and driving
solutions to keep the project on schedule.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Tracking and monitoring the status of purchase orders
(POs) from placement through final delivery as well as
maintaining an accurate and up-to-date database/tracker.
•
Liaising closely with vendors and manufacturers to obtain
realistic delivery schedules, production statuses, and
shipping details
•
Identifying potential delays or bottlenecks in the supply
chain early and escalate them promptly as well as working
with suppliers to develop corrective action plans to recover
lost time.
•
Collaborating with internal teams including Engineering
(for drawing/approval delays), QA/QC (for inspection
readiness), Logistics (for shipping clearance), and Project
Management (for schedule alignment).
•
Ensuring all shipping documents (e.g., invoices, packing
lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin) are collected and
verified.
•
Preparing and submitting regular expediting status reports
to management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR
EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
•
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain; Engineering or similar
field
•
Diploma in Logistics Management
•
MCIPS (Or studying towards qualification highly desirable)

Forklift driving license required.

Minimum of 5 (five) years’ experience in a similar role
preferably in a mining/construction industry with basic
procurement experience in mining industry preferred

Experience with working in an ERP environment, especially
