PEEPA Calls for BNYC and Gender Board Applications

CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST TO SERVE ON THE BOTSWANA NATIONAL
YOUTH COUNCIL (BNYC) BOARD AND THE NATIONAL GENDER COMMISSION (NGC)
The Botswana National Youth Council (BNYC) and the National Gender Commission (NGC) both under The Ministry of Youth and Gender Affairs, facilitated by the Public Enterprises Evaluation and
Privatisation Agency (PEEPA), invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and interested candidates for consideration for appointment to the boards of the BNYC and the NGC.
1. Qualifications and Expertise Required
PEEPA invites people with the following skills, qualifications and competencies:-
Botswana National Youth Council:
Vacancies are available across the following regions: Francistown, North East, Chobe,
Ghanzi, and Bobirwa and youth between the age of 18-28 are encouraged to apply.
The National Gender Commission:
Appointments are sought to fill vacancies within the Commission across key priority sectors,
including Academia, Youth, Persons with Disabilities, Shelters (places of safety for survivors of
gender-based violence) and Sport.

Public policy and governance
Financial management and grant oversight
Resource mobilisation and donor engagement
Legal and compliance

Gender equality and women’s rights advocacy

2. Expressions of interest to serve on other boards
PEEPA continues to receive requests for candidates from other Ministries and therefore, individuals
whose expertise is not listed above are highly encouraged to also submit their expressions of interest,
accompanied by CVs, for inclusion in the Agency’s database for consideration when other vacancies arise.
3. Data Protection Notice
3.1 By submitting your Expression of Interest (EOI) for the BNYC or NGC board vacancies, you acknowledge
that the Public Enterprises Evaluation and Privatisation Agency (PEEPA) will collect, process, and store
your personal data in fulfillment of its mandate to facilitate parastatal board appointments and manage
the Board Candidates Database. Where processing activities fall outside this mandate, your explicit
consent shall be solicited separately.
3.2 Purpose of Processing: PEEPA processes your personal information, including your CV,
identification documents, and academic certificates, strictly to evaluate your suitability for these board
roles and to conduct mandatory background verification checks with the Ministry of Youth and Gender
Affairs.
3.3 Database Retention & Timelines: As outlined in Section 2 of this call, if your expertise
does not match the current BNYC or NGC profiles, your data will be securely retained within PEEPA Board
Candidates Database for a maximum period of twelve (12) months from the date of submission.
3.4 Updating Your Records: To ensure your profile remains accurate and competitive for
future public enterprise and parastatal board vacancies, you are required to review and update
your qualifications, contact details, and CV at least once every twelve (12) months, or
whenever you achieve significant professional changes. Profiles that remain inactive or outdated
beyond twelve (12) months period will be permanently and securely deleted from our system.
3.5 Data Security & Sharing: Your information will be handled with strict confidentiality in
compliance with the Data Protection Act (2024). It will only be shared with authorized government
stakeholders involved in the appointment process and will never be shared with third parties for
commercial purposes.
3.6 Your Rights: You retain the right to access your data, rectify inaccuracies, or request the complete
removal of your profile from the PEEPA Board Candidates Database at any time by contacting the Data
Protection Officer via email at dpo@peepa.co.bw
4. Authenticity, integrity and completeness of records and documents
4.1 Candidates are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, authenticity, completeness, and integrity of all
information and supporting documents submitted through the system. Applicants shall ensure that
qualifications, contact details, employment history, signatures and curriculum vitae (CVs) are accurate
and up to date. Any incomplete, or outdated information may result in removal from the database or
other appropriate administrative action.
5. HOW TO APPLY

A letter of motivation detailing your suitability for the role.
A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) outlining your qualifications, employment history,
expertise, board experience (if any), professional memberships, and key achievements.
Certified copy of Identity Document (Omang/Passport).
Certified copies of educational and professional certificates.
Please note that hard copies will not be accepted.
Deadline for submission: Friday 12th June, 2026.
Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Please note that PEEPA facilitates the recruitment
process and submits recommendations to the Minister, who is the appointing authority. Applicants who do
not receive communication from PEEPA within three (3) months after the closing date should consider their
application for these specific positions unsuccessful.
Data Status for Unsuccessful Candidates: In line with our data retention policy and
Section 2 of this advert, the profiles of unsuccessful candidates who meet general board eligibility criteria
will automatically be transferred to PEEPA’s secure Board Candidates Database for future consideration. If
you do not wish for your data to be retained in the database after being unsuccessful for this role, you may
