MILLENNIUM BOTSWANA RETIREMEMNT FUND

VACANCY FOR AN INDEPENDENT TRUSTEE

In compliance with legislative requirements, the Board of Trustees of the Millennium Botswana

Retirement Fund invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to serve as an

Independent Trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Fund.

The Fund is a defined contribution fund which is licensed by the Non-Bank Financial Institutions

Regulatory Authority and approved by the Botswana Unified Revenue Service. The Fund has been

established with the primary objective of providing post-retirement and other benefits for individuals.

The successful candidate should be well versed in the retirement funds industry, an independent and

strategic thinker who is expected to add depth, expertise, and diversity to the Fund’s Board of Trustees

in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities on behalf of its members.

Qualifications and Eligibility of Candidates

• The candidate should be an individual who is not an employee of Minet Botswana, its

subsidiaries/related entities or any service provider to the Fund.

• We require a suitably qualified individual with a strong investment management background,

including practical working experience within the fund management industry, who is not

currently directly or indirectly affiliated with any local asset management firm. The ideal

candidate should also possess a robust background in finance, compliance, and regulatory

governance, with demonstrated expertise within the financial services or retirement funds

environment, to support effective oversight and adherence to applicable regulatory standards.

• A degree Or Masters in Finance/investments, actuarial science or risk management supported

by at least 5 years practical experience within the financial services environment/investments.

Well versed in pension fund and legislative issues

The individual must be of good standing to be approved by the Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA)

to be a Controller of a Retirement Fund.

• Experience in infrastructure funds, and ESG investing would be an added advantage
