We are looking for suitably qualified, highly motivated,

talented, innovative, hands-on, dynamic team

players capable of working both collaboratively and

independently. Suitable candidates should possess a

high level of integrity, show strong commitment, and

express the desire to deliver operational excellence

through Zero Harm. Candidates must demonstrate strong

analytical and problem‑solving skills, excellent attention

to detail and hazard awareness, good communication

and report‑writing abilities, and proficiency in data

collection and interpretation. The positions are based

at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa

in Ngamiland. To be successful, you must enjoy getting

out on site and have the enthusiasm and interest to work

in a remote location, as well as deliver in a multicultural

1. HME SUPERINTENDENT (CONTRACTOR

OVERSIGHT – MINING MAINTENANCE)-

5 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The HME Superintendent (Contractor Oversight- Mining

Maintenance) will be responsible for overseeing and

enforcing the performance of the mining maintenance

contractor responsible for Heavy Mining Equipment

(HME), ensuring contractual compliance, high

equipment availability, quality maintenance, cost control,

and development of local workforce capability.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

Monitoring contractor compliance with SLA/

KPIs (availability, reliability, response times)

and verifying that maintenance work meets

agreed scope, OEM standards and site

requirements.

Reviewing daily/weekly contractor reports

and validating accuracy against actual site

conditions.

Ensuring all planned maintenance and

breakdown repairs are executed as per

schedule.

Auditing maintenance practices, tooling, and

adherence to OEM standards.

Overseeing breakdown response and ensuring

timely fault finding, repairing, participating in

and enforcing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for

major failures.

Ensuring implementation of corrective

actions and tracking effectiveness through

identification of systemic issues (skills, parts,

planning) affecting reliability.

Enforcing mine safety standards and

legal compliance (MQW&M) and ensuring

contractor adherence to SHE policies,

procedures and risk assessments.

Participating in incident investigations, holding

contractors accountable for findings and

conducting routine safety audits on contractor

teams.

Validating contractor claims, work orders and

invoices against actual work done.

Monitoring cost drivers (labour, spares,

rework, standby time) and preventing

cost leakage due to poor workmanship

or inefficiencies and supporting contract

performance reviews and commercial

discussions.

Ensuring contractors deliver on training and

skills transfer commitments and monitoring

competency levels of contractor artisans

(expatriate vs local workforce).

Interfacing between operations, planning

team and contractors by ensuring alignment

of maintenance schedules with production

requirements.

Participating in shutdown planning and

execution oversight and ensuring proper

resource allocation by contractor (skills, tools,

parts).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR

EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Trade Certificate (Diesel Mechanic / Auto

Electrician / HME Fitter) or NCQF Level

4–5 or equivalent

Minimum of 7–10 years HME maintenance

experience and minimum 3 years in a

supervisory or contractor management role

Supervisory / Foreman training

(advantageous)

Strong exposure to contractor-driven

maintenance environment

Experience with major OEM fleets (CAT,

Komatsu, Sandvik, Epiroc) a pre-requisite

2. STUDY LEAD

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Study Lead will be responsible for strengthening

research capacity in Khoemacau Copper Mining (KCM)

to facilitate the long term operational and technical

improvement through technical innovation by utilizing

technical strength and support from both Botswana

and China. The candidate will also give support on

establishing and maintaining cooperation between

KCM and external institutions to facilitate KCM to join

and apply the Technology Support Program projects

supported by Governments and Corporations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

Supporting the establishment and

maintenance of cooperation between KCM

and external institutions.

Communicating with institutions and

universities in Botswana and China to identify

appropriate technical expertise to support

operational studies, technical improvements,

and long-term efficiency and cost optimization

initiatives.

Maintaining corporate relationships with

institutions and universities in Botswana and

China to establish regular communication and

study collaboration processes.

Leading collaborative technical studies,

research initiatives, and improvement projects

with institutions and universities in Botswana

and China.

Supporting the identification and development

of mining and processing related talents and

graduates.

Facilitating KCM participation in Technology

Support Program projects.

Investigating Technology Support Programs

supported by China, Botswana, CMC,

CMN and MMG to prepare study and

implementation work plans for KCM.

Leading preparation of technical materials and

documentation for applying and participating in

Technology Support Program projects.

Leading the initiation, implementation,

monitoring and assessment processes for

study and improvement projects supported by

Technology Support Programs.

Leading study outcome reporting, research

achievement summaries, and awards

applications.

Drafting WQRs and WIs for Technology

Support Program applications and related

study processes at KCM.

Supporting the Integrated Asset Strategy

Manager on Integrated Business Planning,

Business Improvement and Technical Study

Projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR

EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, or

related field and note that Master’s degree or

PHD would be added advantage.

Previous experience in the mining industry

mandatory, ideally greater than 5 years

Ability to lead function establishment

processes, including,

o facilitating discussions with various roles

and levels of seniority in related teams,

including Mining & Technical Services,

Processing Plant and Construction, to

identify optimal work plan for backfill

commissioning and operation at KCM,

o ability to develop work plans and

monitoring tools to support backfill plant

and UG backfill operation.

Ability to use data analysis software including

Excel, Origin, Python, MATLAB and Power BI.

Comprehensive ability to use mining

application and geotechnical professional

software, including but not limited to Deswik,

YADE, PFC2D/3D, Vic-3D, Avizo, Mimics,

InSite, et al.

Familiar with rock mechanical testing and

advanced technologies like CT scan, AE

monitoring, DIC.
