Elderly man meets tragic end in freak accident

According to the Mogoditshane Police Station acting commander, Superintendent Mompoloki Ramaphoi, the deceased was attempting to start his Toyota Hilux with one leg on the gear whilst the other was partly outside the vehicle.
Ramaphoi explained that after the engine started, the vehicle accidentally moved off whilst the man was still in that position. He was dragged along by the moving vehicle until it eventually crashed into a tree.
'The victim was dragged by the vehicle and was smashed against the tree when the vehicle collided with it, sustaining serious injuries,' said Ramaphoi.
The elderly man was rushed to Nkoyaphiri Clinic for medical attention. However, upon arrival, doctors certified him dead.
Police have since launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
