Group Chief Finance Officer Vacancy in Botswana

 

VACANCY: GROUP CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER

A large expanding diversified Group of companies with both domestic and foreign operations requires the service of a Group Chief Finance Officer. As a key member of the Executive Management Team, the incumbent will report directly to the Group Managing Director and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the Group.

Key requirements and responsibilities: Qualifications and experience

l Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Commerce or Finance.

l Professional qualification a must – either ACCA/CIMA or CA. Must be registered with BICA.

l Minimum 15 years of experience in Audit field through public accounting/auditing (Big 4 plus) AND minimum of 10 years industry experience, preferably in a large group at a senior management position.

l High proficiency in use and interrogation of retail POS systems such as ARCH, MRI, WINBRANCH. POSITEL and ULTISALES. Advanced Microsoft Ecel a key necessity as well as ability to work with large volumes of data and extraction of meaningful analyses there from.

l Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.

l Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

l High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results- orientation.

Key areas of proficiency

l Provides leadership in the development of the Group through continuous evaluation

of short and long-term strategic financial

objectives.

l Ensure credibility of finance function by

providing timely and accurate analysis of

budgets, financial trends and forecasts. l Direct and oversee all aspects of the

Finance and Accounting functions of the

Group.

l Establish and maintain strong relationships

with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.

l Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

l Understand and mitigate key elements of the Group’s risk profile

l Maintain relationships with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.

l Maintain relationships with advisors, lawyers and other professionals.

l Maintain banking relationships. Experience of raising capital essential.
