According to police, the deceased and the suspect were members of a cooperative society, commonly known as a motshelo, where members take turns hosting gatherings at their homes and sell various items, including alcohol.

The incident occurred when members of the group were gathered at one of the hosts' residences. It is alleged that the deceased and the suspect became involved in a misunderstanding, which escalated into a physical fight.

Confirming the incident, Letlhakeng Police Station commander, Superintendent Nchidzi Mpayang, said the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck with a sharp object during the fight.

'The victim was rushed to Letlhakeng Clinic, where he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors. Investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the dispute, while the suspect remains in custody, charged with murder,' Mpayang said.

He added that the suspect is expected to appear before the Molepolole Magistrate's Court sometime this week for arraignment.
