Robotic is one of the latest musical exports joining the list that includes DJ KSB, Harrycane, Isaah Sidoh, Tefo Foxx, among others who have left their mark on South Africa’s music scene. The talented producer has been making serious waves across the border, collaborating with heavyweight acts such as Oskido, Shimza and vocalist MaWhoo, further cementing his growing reputation as one of Botswana’s most promising electronic music exports. In a major endorsement of his talent, internationally acclaimed SA DJ and producer Shimza publicly gave Robotic a shoutout during his interview with Oskido. Shimza praised his production skills and acknowledging the quality of his sound. The recognition from one of globally most respected Afro house figures has added momentum to the growing career of Robotic.
Shimza’s shoutout comes after Robotic dropped a mixtape on YouTube with Oskido and Shimza, a collaboration that has generated buzz among Afro tech music lovers and introduced his sound to a wider Southern African audience. Known for his signature deep Afro tech sound, Robotic has steadily built a name for himself through consistency, innovation and a unique sonic identity that blends rhythms with rich electronic textures. His growing presence in SA signals a major breakthrough for Botswana’s electronic music industry, which has often struggled to gain mainstream regional recognition.
Collaborating with respected figures such as Oskido and Shimza is widely seen as a strong endorsement and a sign that Robotic is destined for even greater heights. Music enthusiasts have hailed his latest achievements as a proud moment for Botswana, saying his success proves that local talent can compete and thrive on Africa’s biggest stages. The locally born DJ continues to spread his wings as he is now getting international recognition beyond South Africa. Robotic has shared his gig guide on his Facebook page, a schedule dominated by performances beyond borders.
As per his gig guide, Robotic will first hit it off at Johannesburg in SA, a place he has called for the past few weeks. The following month, he will be on a voyage to West Africa in Nigeria, Lagos, a country known for producing musical stars. From West Africa, he will get down to East Africa at Nairobi, Kenya, in August. Still in August, he will then go to Zimbabwe, Bulawayo, before closing off his gig guide at Mozambique, Beira. As his catalogue continues to grow and his collaborations expand, Robotic is fast becoming one of the country’s standout creative exports, carrying Botswana’s Afro tech sound into new territories.
