According to the Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Mompoloki Ramaphoi, the accident happened around 5 am along the Metsimotlhabe–Kopong road. The injured woman was travelling in a Toyota Corolla with two other occupants after returning from a night out in Mogoditshane.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle, driven by a 35-year-old Zimbabwean woman, lost control, veered off the road, and fell into a culvert.
“The driver and her partner, a Motswana man, escaped the accident with minor injuries,” Ramaphoi said.
He further revealed that blood samples were taken from the driver for alcohol testing after she allegedly refused to undertake a breathalyser test at the scene.
Police investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
