Black Lions revive survival hopes

Lions beat Stars 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in a game played at VTM Arena.
Lions have now collected 24 points from 27 games with three rounds of matches still to play. Stars on the other hand are still languishing at the bottom of the table with 18 points from 27 games.
Above them are Santa Green with 19 points. Ahead of the past weekend’s schedule, Santa Green were sitting at the bottom of the log but a point recorded away from home against Matebele FC saw them move one place up the log standings.
The Mahalapye-based side played to a 1-1 draw against Matebele, with the relegation battle now in its ride or die moment.
Gunners who have been doing relatively well in the past few games played to a 1-1 draw against BDF XI at Lobatse Sports Complex. The draw saw them lose their spot and drop one place down the table.

TAFIC, who last week were also in the mix, put in a good show against champions Gaborone United (GU) in Francistown on Saturday afternoon.
Matjimenyenga registered a 2-0 win over GU and moved to position 11 with 28 points. Police XI dropped to position 12 following their 2-1 loss to Township Rollers. They are on 28 points.
