This afternoon, they take on Jwaneng Young Stars at Galaxy Stadium, where they will officially be crowned and handed over the league trophy.

Led by Kaelo ‘Digger’ Montwedi and assisted by former player Tatenda Mbikiwa, the Warders kicked off their season on a low note before they shifted gears and showed their true intentions.

They have been sitting on top of the log standings for the better part of the season, and their efforts were rewarded when they beat Holy Ghost.

Their closest rivals, Dinare FC, made the job easier when they lost to Union Flamengo Santos later that day. Prisons XI will now be playing in the elite league again after spending two seasons in the lower division.

If they avoid a defeat this afternoon against Young Stars, they will end the season with only three losses.

Whilst the result of the match does not mean much to the visitors, Young Stars, on the other hand, need maximum points in their quest to leapfrog Security Systems into third position.

They risk dropping to fifth position with Thamaga Shooting Stars just two points below them and breathing heavily on their necks.

The rest of the fixtures for the league are scheduled for tomorrow, with Security Systems and Dinare headlining the schedule. Dinare have officially secured their spot at the promotional play-offs, and the result means little.

Systems, on the other hand, need to win to finish third on the log. Taung Young Strikers will be at home to Shooting Stars, whilst relegated side, Majweng host Tlokweng United. Notwane are on the road to face Tsetseng United while Santos and Holy Ghost face off in Gabane.

In the First Division North league, Tonota FC will also be handed over the trophy tomorrow when they host Ndundu Young Fighters. The game is scheduled to kick off at 3pm.

Meanwhile, the battle for the promotional play-off spot in the north remains a tight affair between Young Fighters and Enesia FC. The latter currently occupy the second position with 40 points, whilst Young Fighters are third with 39 points, with two rounds of matches left before the league wraps up.

Both sides have tricky encounters this weekend, with Young Fighters facing champions, Tonota FC, in Tonota. Enesia will be away to Sankoyo Bush Bucks. In the last round of matches, Enesia will be home to Tonota FC, whilst Young Fighters take on Eleven Angels.
