Speaking at the party’s 60th-anniversary gala dinner at Royal Aria in Tlokweng, Boko made it clear that his leadership stands against any form of bribery or exploitation. Furthermore, he urged those who may have encountered such demands to take decisive action.

“If anyone has demanded that you pay him or her, go and open a case with the Botswana Police,” he said. This came after some public members complained that some people close to the President are making business people pay them to access him.

Lately, people demand that the Boko-led ruling Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), of which BNF is an affiliate, answer for that.

In addition, Boko advised those who may have already paid money under such circumstances to recover it and report the matter to the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime or the police.

Meanwhile, Boko emphasised that his office remains open and accessible to all citizens, regardless of political affiliation. He reiterated that leadership should serve the people without barriers, adding that access to him is not determined by party colours but by the issues individuals wish to present.

However, he noted that those seeking an audience must present clear and genuine matters. According to Boko, this ensures that engagements are meaningful and contribute to national development rather than personal gain. Moreover, he called on all Batswana to play an active role in rebuilding the country, stressing that collective effort is crucial for progress. In this regard, he reaffirmed his commitment to inclusivity, stating that every citizen has the right to be heard.

Addressing the allegations directly, Boko dismissed them as unfounded.

“It is not true that people are paying to see me,” he said. He concluded by reinforcing his position as a national leader, declaring, “I am the president for all Batswana”.

Ultimately, his remarks sought to reassure the public while reinforcing his strong anti-corruption stance.
