Man’s car burnt overnight, rival suspected

The car owner had allegedly parked his Mazda Demio on Friday night after returning home from a night out with his girlfriend.
“It is alleged that the couple went to sleep shortly after arriving home, only to wake up in the morning to find the vehicle destroyed by fire,” said Ramaphoi.
Preliminary reports suggest that suspicion has been directed towards another man believed to be romantically linked with his girlfriend.
Ramaphoi explained that the suspect had allegedly been calling the woman repeatedly on the phone before the couple went to bed.
“The victim stated that the man was calling the woman non-stop prior to them sleeping, hence he suspects that he could be behind the incident. “However, these are still allegations, and investigations are ongoing to establish what really transpired,” he added.
Ramaphoi further noted that neither the couple nor their neighbours reported hearing any disturbances during the night. The matter was only discovered in the morning when the vehicle was found reduced to ashes.
Police have since launched investigations into the incident.
