Lucara Botswana (Pty) Ltd owns the Karowe Diamond Mine in Letlhakane, which operates an Open Pit Mine and is now transitioning into the Underground operation. The envisaged underground operation is currently undergoing construction in which two vertical shafts (Production and Ventilation) are being sunk and will be followed by lateral development and subsequent ore extraction.

To this end, Lucara Botswana invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following position, tenable in Letlhakane, to be part of this exciting underground mine development.

PROJECT SENIOR SPECIALIST – PRIMAVERA P6 SCHEDULER

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Senior Specialist – Primavera P6 Scheduler is responsible for developing, planning, creating, and managing project schedules, including schedule optimization and updates, in accordance with the requirements and needs of all stakeholders.

Effectiveness Areas

Execute project planning and specialized scheduling activities using Primavera P6

Verify progress measurements to ensure accuracy and alignment with project baselines

Prepare and deliver detailed progress reports, including schedule performance updates

Support estimate management processes through accurate schedule inputs and analysis

Collect, analyze, and interpret project data to support decisionmaking and performance tracking

Provide expert optimization of project schedules, leveraging advanced Primavera P6 capabilities

Qualifications and Experience

Relevant Qualification

Certification in Primavera P6

Minimum of eight (8) years’ postqualification experience as a Primavera Project Planner in a construction, engineering project management, or underground mining environment, of which five (5) years should have been spent planning large, complex technical projects

At least three (3) years’ experience as a Senior Specialist – P6 Primavera Scheduler

Advanced proficiency in MS Project

Specialist in Primavera P6 software
