Man dies after being hit with a stone in Kopong

Mogoditshane Acting Police Station Commander, Assistant Superintendent Mompoloki Ramaphoi, confirmed the incident, stating that police received a report at around 3 am and responded swiftly.
“The injured man was rushed to Nkoyaphiri Clinic, where he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors,' Ramaphoi said.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased was involved in a misunderstanding with a 25-year-old suspect, who allegedly hit him with a stone, causing him to collapse.
“We are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, as the exact cause of the misunderstanding remains unknown,” Ramaphoi added.
The suspect was arrested later the same morning and is currently in police custody assisting with investigations. He is expected to be arraigned for murder before the Broadhurst Magistrate Court either Monday or Tuesday.
