SENIOR MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST

Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist.

ROLE SUMMARY:

• Provide Overall Day to Day Supervision of a team of Technical Department.

• To perform a wide range of activities of the Medical Laboratory Equipment support (Training,

Troubleshooting, Problem Solving, Calibration and QC of Equipment, Assisting in repairs and service)

and other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

• Provide Leadership in the implementation of Problem Solving

• Culture Quality Management Systems and other Quality Requirements.

• Coordinate Internal Quality Audits, Review QMS Activities and Management Reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences Degree or an equivalent from a recognized institution.

• Certificates of Laboratory Equipment Trainings- Applications and Services

• Registration with Botswana Health Professions Council.

• Previous experience in Medical Laboratory and Supervision Experience.

• At Least 8 years experience in the multi-disciplinary medical laboratory and at least 5 years experience

as Multidisciplinary Application Specialist for a Medical Laboratory Equipment Supplier, Distributor or

Technical Consultancy

• Laboratory Information Systems Technology or Advanced Computer literacy a requirement.

KEY WORK OUTPUTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provision of Advisory Services to technical team

• Technical Training and Advisory of Customers

• Troubleshooting and resolution of logged Technical Incidences

• Evaluation of Customer Technical needs

• Customer Relationship Management and Assessment of User Feedback

• Supervisory of timely and quality support services

• Internal Audits, Risk Management

• Prepare and revise SOPs, Job Aids and Forms as may be required in documenting the Quality

Management System and maintaining ISO 9001 Accreditation requirements.
