The University of Botswana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the below position.

FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES

School of Allied Health Professions

Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Physiotherapy *REF: Vacancy No. IRC 3116

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) a PhD in in Physiotherapy or related field (ii) be registrable with

the Botswana Health Professions Council; (iii) demonstrable experience in curriculum development;.

NB: a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy (specialisation); (ii) Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or equivalent)

of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iii) registered/registrable with Botswana Health

Professions Council may be considered under special circumstances.

UNIVERSITY TEACHING EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT: Senior Lecturer 3 years; Lecturer Added advantage

Duties: The successful applicants will be expected to: (i) to lead the development of Bachelor of

Physiotherapy (Hons) programmes; (ii) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physiotherapy/

rehabilitation sciences; (iii) conduct research, including the long-range planning and management of

individuals and multidisciplinary teams; (iv) initiate and participate in community engagement, (v) take

an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and graduate students’ research

projects; (vi) develop and implement mentorship activities for junior staff; (vii) raise research funds from

funding agencies within and outside University; (viii) facilitate partnerships internally and externally; (ix)

serve in committees within the University and external professional organisations; (x) and carry out any

other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of School.
