The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland. SHER MANAGER (SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND RISK MANAGER)

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Safety Health Environment & Risk Manager will be responsible for overseeing and leading the SHER Department at the mine, providing strategic direction and technical guidance, ensuring the implementation of effective structures, processes and technologies, and contributing to the overall objectives and strategic goals of the mine.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

Developing and implementing departmental strategies and operational plans aligned with the Company Corporate Strategy, business plans, and applicable national legislation.

Coordinating the implementation of approved departmental strategies and reviewing sectional plans to ensure alignment and synergy across the organisation.

Determining resource requirements for approved plans, developing detailed budgets with inputs from team members, and submitting budgets for approval.

Monitoring departmental expenditure against approved budgets, reporting on variances, and implementing corrective actions to avoid adverse deviations.

Providing technical guidance and professional advice to management on Safety, Health, Environment, and Risk (SHER) matters to support operational decision-making.

Ensuring ongoing compliance with statutory Safety, Health, Environmental, and Risk requirements to maintain the organisation’s license to operate.

Conducting and overseeing prevention inspections and compliance audits to identify hazards and ensuring adherence to SHE standards.

Establishing, coordinating, and leading monthly systems audits to assess compliance with SHER management systems.

Engaging and managing external risk audit consultants and reviewing audit findings to identify operational exposures and potential risks.

Monitoring the implementation of agreed risk insurance actions and escalating persistent non-compliance to the General Manager.

Providing leadership and direction in the implementation of SHER strategies, programmes, and initiatives across the organisation.

Coordinating cross-functional teams to implement risk management, safety improvement, and environmental protection initiatives.

Promoting a strong organisational culture focused on safety, health, environmental stewardship, and responsible community engagement.

Ensuring that accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and occupational diseases are investigated thoroughly and documented accurately within required timeframes.

Implementing initiatives that improve occupational health management, environmental protection, and workplace safety performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Bachelor’s degree and post-graduate diploma in Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Environment, or equivalent.

10 years in a mining environment with at least 5 years in a managerial position.

Strong knowledge of standards related to SHER

Strong grasp of SHEC standards and regulatory frameworks.

Management Development Programme

SENIOR MINE PLANNING ENGINEER – STP SCHEDULING

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Senior Mine Planning Engineer – STP Scheduling will be responsible for short-term production scheduling, translating approved Asset Business Plan (ABP) designs and planning inputs into a practical rolling schedule and weekly operational plans.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

Translating broadly stated company objectives into a detailed three-month rolling plan.

Developing and maintaining a 3-month rolling integrated production schedule for underground activities aligned to the approved Budget.

Translating the 3-month plan into detailed weekly schedules.

Ensuring the operational schedule compliance in relation to: Development, Slot raises, Stope drilling, Charging and blasting, Mucking, and Paste backfilling.

Participating in weekly production schedules with operations teams.

Supporting short interval control (SIC) processes to track schedule performance.

Monitoring actual performance against the short-term schedule.

Analyzing deviations in production tonnage, development meters, drill and blast performance, and equipment utilization.

Producing monthly planning reports highlighting: Variances from plan, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Developing, implementing, and maintaining work quality requirements and work instructions for Scheduling activities

Training and developing knowledge and skills in the mine scheduling team to ensure high standards of work, succession planning and continual coverage.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in an underground mining environment with at least 3 years spent in mine planning and scheduling.

Underground Mining Blasting License would be an added advantage.

Registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Botswana or eligible for registration.

Experience managing short-term production schedules in underground operations.

Operational underground experience in mechanized would be an added advantage.

Experience in Long hole Open stoping design and planning will be advantageous.

Skills and Knowledge:

Deep understanding of mining engineering, including industry best practices and current theory in Scheduling

Expert proficiency in Deswik.CAD, Deswik.Sched, Deswik.IS and SO, or any mine planning and scheduling software, are highly regarded.

Ability to develop, implement, and maintain work standards.

Data analysis and reporting

Risk and constraint analysis.

METALLURGIST

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Metallurgist will be responsible for controlling, testing and analysing all processes plus raw materials pertinent to the manufacture of gold and quality copper and silver.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

Managing production and metallurgical processes, ensuring quality control, and recommending equipment and protocol enhancements.

Leading design compliance via SOPs, developing scopes of work, and supporting innovation in processing and testing methods.

Collaborating with engineering and labs to resolve ore-related issues, sharing insights, and enhancing product quality.

Ensuring adherence to safety, technical, and process standards through regular audits and corrective actions.

Delivering performance reports, tracking trend, maintaining quality metrics, and ensuring financial documentation aligns with legislative requirements.

Addressing product failures, complaints, and identifying areas for commercial improvement and risk reduction.

Leading personnel, mentoring recent graduates, promoting knowledge sharing, and ensuring training supports output quality.

Supporting system optimisation efforts and ensuring effective use of technical platforms and processes

Performing duties assigned in alignment with policies, SOPs, and the company’s Code of Conduct.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Bachelor’s degree in metallurgy or materials science/chemical engineering or other relevant qualification.

3–5 years’ post-qualification hands-on professional experience in a process plant and analytical/metallurgical laboratory, preferably in the mining industry.

Experience in managing metallurgical projects and optimising processes for efficiency and quality

WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of a warehouse by managing goods, monitoring inventory, and handling incoming and outgoing shipments. The incumbent will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, organizing products, and upholding safety standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

Receiving, processing, and organizing shipments of goods and products

Managing and maintaining inventory levels using warehouse management systems

Tracking all incoming and outgoing shipments, including performing periodic inventory counts

Inspecting goods for quality and conformity to purchase orders

Packing and preparing orders for customer delivery or shipment

Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and barcode scanners

Enforcing and maintaining safety protocols and cleanliness in the warehouse

Documenting and maintaining accurate records of inventory movements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Degree or above in logistics or related supply chain management, international trade, information resource management

10 Years experience in a warehouse or similar environment

Proficiency with warehouse management systems and inventory management

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the procurement process related to the project, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. The role aims to optimise procurement activities, control costs, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

Developing sourcing plans; managing RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and procurement lifecycle.

Fostering collaboration with contractors, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure delivery on project objectives.

Ensuring adherence to procurement policies, legal requirements, internal controls, and MMG-Khoemacau supply chain standards.

Monitoring commercial risk; implementing cost control and risk mitigation strategies aligned with budget goals.

Maintaining contract records, analysing procurement data, reporting budget variances, and driving cost-saving initiatives.

Monitoring performance, compliance, and delivery from third parties to maintain standards and timelines.

Executing duties within company code of conduct, SOPs, and ethical frameworks.

Improving procurement processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and support project delivery.

Overseeing risk identification and SHEC compliance across procurement activities; promoting safety culture and enforce standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, purchasing, supply chain management or related field.

Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement certification beneficial.

3–5 years’ experience in contract negotiation/admin.

STOREPERSON

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Storeperson will be responsible for receiving and issuing equipment and materials

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

Paying close attention to the logistics and transportation trends of equipment and materials and planning the storage plan in advance according to the requirements of the procurement contract.

Organising a special unpacking inspection team before the equipment and materials are officially put into storage, to conduct inspection according to the procurement contract requirements.

Processing the storage procedures when the documents, related supporting documents, and inspection records are complete, and the specified storage conditions are met for equipment and materials that have passed the unpacking inspection.

Distributing equipment and materials according to the approved goods reservation form, going through goods delivery and handover procedures, and distributing qualified goods accurately and in a timely manner

Issuing daily goods receipt and goods issue work arrangements to the relevant recipients.

Organizing warehouse labourers and drivers to carry out loading and unloading operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Degree or above in logistics or related supply chain management, international trade, information resource management, etc

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant field

Trained in logistics management, supply chain management, warehouse management and other related aspect

PROJECT EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Project Executive Assistant And Administration Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Project leadership team.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

Answering and directing phone calls; managing incoming calls, transferring calls to the right individuals or departments, and taking messages when necessary

Managing appointments for Executives

Assisting with booking travel arrangements for employees, such as flights, hotels, and transportation.

Assisting in organizing and coordinating office events, meetings, or conferences, preparing meeting agendas, materials, and presentations as required

Attending and recording minutes during meetings as required and ensuring timely distribution.

Processing and reconciling travel and expense reports for the executive, monitoring and tracking expenses to ensure they align with the budget.

Assisting with special projects and initiatives as requested by the Project Leadership team.

Administratively supporting the Project leadership, drafting emails and other MMG-Khoemacau correspondence as may be directed.

Co-ordinating the filing and update of business documentation held in hardcopy and electronically.

Managing office Supplies and stationery and maintaining an inventory of necessary items.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Minimum diploma in secretarial studies or related field.

10 Years’ experience as an Executive Assistant, office coordinator/Manager, or Administrative Assistant

7-10 years providing support for upper-level management,

Excellent social skills, able to operate with diplomacy, tact and empathy.

Ability to manage complex and highly confidential information.

A high degree of personal organization and self-management.

IT literate-proficiency in windows, including MS word, EXCEL, Outlook and power point

Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and with professional discretion.

The Internship Development Program is a Two-Year Rotational Program which allows new graduates to develop their professional skills and business acumen while gaining valuable work experience and making valuable contributions to MMG-Khoemacau. This structured programme provides exposure to multiple functional areas—allowing interns to build a solid foundation for their careers.

The trainees shall gain critical insights into MMG-Khoemacau operational model as well as a direct impact in helping to shape MMG-Khoemacau’s future.
