NOTIFICATION FOR PUBLIC REVIEW OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (EIA) FOR THE PROPOSED GRAVEL
EXTRACTION (X2) AT KUTAMOGORE BY GOFAONE TENDANI, GRAVEL EXTRACTION AT KUTAMOGORE BY NALYTHAN
INVESTMENTS (PTY) LTD AND PROPOSED GRAVEL EXTRACTION AT MAFUNGO/HUBONA BY OLYMAT (PTY) LTD
The major findings of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study undertaken for the proposed gravel extraction in
borrow pits at Kutamogore and Mafungo/Hubona villages are as summarized hereunder:
a. Description of the Project
Gofaone Tendani, Nalythan Investments (Pty) LTD and Olymat (Pty)LTD are proposing gravel extractions in borrow pits
at the above-mentioned place. These proposed borrow pits are going to be used to source gravel material which will
be beneficial in the construction of the A3 road (Francistown-Nata).
b. Location of the Project/Development
The proposed borrow pits are located in different places in Kutamogore and Mafungo/Hubona villages. All the borrow
pits have an access road branching from the village roads.
c. The anticipated environmental impacts of the project and the proposed mitigation measures to respond to both
negative and positive environmental impacts.
The following anticipated impacts are likely to occur during the construction, operation, and decommissioning stages:
