The two-day event showcased vintage classic cars, including a stunning Chevrolet. It also featured a range of exhibitors, from car dealerships to vehicle finance and insurance providers and other service providers.

Motor fanatics were thrilled to witness the impressive performance of the BMW M2 (G87), which made its debut on Saturday. Furthermore, the attendants also enjoyed test drives while children were also catered for with jumping castles and quad bike rides.

Francistown Mayor, Gaone Majere praised the initiative indicating that it provided an opportunity, innovation and economic activity for the city.

He said they were honoured to host dealers showing their newest car models along with important figures from the financial sector and the larger automotive industry who promote investment, mobility and innovation.

Majere expressed gratitude that the organisers chose Francistown as the venue, highlighting the city's efforts to rebuild and reposition itself as a destination for major events and investment.

'Events like these have significant knock-on effects throughout our local economy,' he added.

The Mayor added that Francistown is still rebuilding and realigning itself after the mine closed a few years ago.

'Today, we are consciously paving a new route that establishes our city as a hub for significant events, corporate involvement, and investment. 'We encourage economic activity for both big and small businesses, draw tourists to our city, and raise our profile as an investment destination by holding events of this magnitude,' continued Majere.

Furthermore, he stated that the fact that Francistown hosted what was undoubtedly the largest car show in Botswana was a clear sign of the organisers' and partners' confidence in the city.

He said Toro Mall, which hosted the event, is one of the newest lifestyle centres in Francistown, offering a serene and family-friendly environment, along with some of the finest eateries in the city.

According to Joseph Khengere of Maverick Motor Events, the motor show will establish the city as a new centre for high-end lifestyle businesses and automotive innovation.

He believes that Francistown's potential should not be undervalued.

'Everyone, including a few vehicle dealers, asked, 'Are you sure?' at the beginning of this event. Are you certain that Francistown will host a car show? Additionally, I've already shot some photos today, some of which are in the regress,' he said.

Some exhibitors have demonstrated that Francistown only needs to be ignited, he said. Khengere indicated the motorshow will return the following year, bigger, better, and possibly with some new exhibitors.
