Both Prisons XI and Dinare are currently tied at 42 points each with the latter now sitting at the summit with a superior goal difference. The Ramotswa-based side took charge of the league table following a commanding 3-0 win over Holy Ghost.

Prisons XI on the other hand moved to 42 points after their 0-0 draw with Notwane on Saturday afternoon, in the process surrendering their position at the top to Dinare.

Ahead of the past weekend’s encounters, Dinare were sitting at position two with 39 points, two below Prisons XI.

With both sides now at 42 points, mathematically it rules out the rest of the pack for either the league title or the play-off spot.

A neck-to-neck battle now ensues between the two and most likely going down to the wire. Interestingly, the two teams face off this coming weekend in what could be a defining moment for the title race.

Security Systems, who are currently sitting at position three, have 32 points after a hard-fought 3-2 win over Thamaga Shooting Stars over the weekend. They can only reach 41 points if they win their remaining three games, ruling them out of any promotion chances.

In the relegation battle, things are still not looking good for sleeping giants, Notwane, despite their 0-0 draw against Prisons XI this past weekend. Notwane are currently in position 15 with 20 points and face make or break moment in the remaining three games.

They have only managed five wins this season. Tsetseng United will now return to the regional leagues after yet another loss this past weekend.

United’s demise was confirmed on Saturday after 1-0 defeat to Taung Young Strikers. They have only collected six points thus far and can only reach 15 points if they are to win all three remaining matches.
