Thomas, a beauty queen and community builder, says, 'As a beauty Queen, I should be an ambassador of the youth and a role model in issues concerning youth.' She is passionate about empowering girls and promoting discipline, humility, and self-love. Ngele, Teen Miss Africa Botswana, is on a mission to raise awareness about Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and promote cultural values. 'I am not just representing beauty — I am representing a generation that believes culture can be a solution to modern challenges like GBV,' she says.

Ngele's platform, 'Lore lo ojwa le sale metsi', promotes early guidance and cultural values to prevent GBV. 'If children are taught that strength is not violence, and discipline is not fear, we can raise boys who respect women and girls who are confident enough to speak up,' she says. However, Thomas is involved in community projects, including a study group for underprivileged students. 'We encourage girl children not to look down upon themselves,' she says.

The queens are eager to inspire the next generation. Michelle wants young girls to know that their voices matter. 'I plan to host school dialogues about confidence, cultural pride, and standing against violence,' she says. Thomas advises, 'Believe in yourself and your dreams. Surround yourself with positive influences and practice self-care.'

Ngele cites Naomi Campbell as an inspiration, while Thomas looks up to strong African women who use their voices to challenge injustice. As Botswana's queens prepare to take the stage, they're sending a powerful message: culture, empowerment, and kindness can change the world.

The event promises to be an unforgettable experience, showcasing the beauty, talent, and advocacy of young women from across Africa. Let's cheer on our young queens as they represent Botswana with pride and purpose!

With their confidence, compassion, and commitment to making a difference, Thomas and Ngele are true role models for young Batswana.

Gaonyafelwe Phuti, pageant coordinator, reveals the team's holistic approach to preparing the queens. 'We focus on leadership, cultural identity, emotional intelligence, and discipline,' she says. The queens undergo training in public speaking, confidence-building, and community engagement. Phuti emphasises the importance of mental wellness and emotional support. 'We remind them that their worth is not defined by a crown,' she says.
