Diary 34, a fashion brand founded by Thatayaone Modiitsane, on Saturday unveiled its latest collection, Kwa Kgosing, at an intimate gathering at House of Joss

The event, themed 'A Shared Table', brought together close friends, family and supporters to experience the brand's second collection.

Kwa Kgosing is a celebration of Botswana's rich cultural heritage, with pieces that blend modern silhouettes with traditional references.

The collection features beautifully crafted garments such as the Jale (shawl) shirt and Kgosi pants, made from 100% cotton, perfect for Botswana's warm weather.

The skirt inspired by marothodi a pula (rain drops) is a masterpiece, with drops made of makgabe and the skirt made of lesaka.

'We wanted to create a collection that not only showcases our culture but also tells a story,' says Modiitsane. 'Kwa Kgosing is a call to remember and a return to the dignity carried by the women who came before us.'

The brand's target audience is women aged 25 and above who value identity, culture, and quality over quantity.

'She is not driven by trends - she buys with meaning,' Modiitsane explains. 'She values thoughtful design and self-expression and supports local craftsmanship, sustainability, and storytelling.'

What sets Diary 34 apart is the story behind every garment. 'Our designs focus on minimalism while blending modern silhouettes with heritage references,' Modiitsane says. 'Each piece is created to be both stylish and functional, allowing women to wear them comfortably in their everyday lives.'

The event was a sensory experience, with a menu curated by Bread Bean and drinks inspired by local fruits such as morula. The venue, House of Joss, provided a warm and intimate atmosphere, perfect for the brand's launch.

Diary 34's first collection, Bo Mme, was inspired by the beauty of womanhood and Setswana culture.

'It was a bridge between past, present, and future,' Modiitsane says. Customers can shop the Kwa Kgosing collection on the brand's website, www.diary34.com, or through social media platforms.

As Diary 34 continues to tell stories through fashion, Modiitsane says, 'Our goal is not only to design clothing, but to also build a brand that celebrates African identity while creating pieces that women can connect with emotionally.'
