According to Letlhakane police, the missing person, who was employed as a herder at the Xharamxaa cattleposts, left his place of work on February 16, 2026, without informing his employer of his whereabouts.
New Letlhakane Police Station commander, Superintendent Unoziba Rari, said the employer became worried after the young man failed to return home and subsequently reported the matter to the police. Rari said before making the report, the employer had travelled to Mogorosi village, the missing man's home village, to look for him.
However, he was shocked to find that the man was not there and that his family had not heard from him or known his whereabouts.
“People who last saw him at Xharamxaa said he left, saying he was going to look for one of the cows that had gone missing, but he never returned,” Rari said.
He added that some people claimed the young man had previously mentioned plans to leave the job, but police have not been able to verify the claims.
Rari said police, together with the family, have been searching for the missing man, but their efforts have so far hit a dead end.
