The university signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Seth Resources Petroleum and eMangweni Business Solutions to implement the Botswana Youth and Citizen Oil and Gas Entrepreneurship Training Programme, which is scheduled to commence in June 2026.

The agreement brings together academic and industry players to develop curriculum and deliver training covering upstream, midstream and downstream operations, regulatory compliance, pricing mechanisms, LPG operations and fuel retail models.

The programme will include mentorship and practical sessions.

The June 2026 intake will mark the launch of the Oil & Gas Entrepreneurship Masterclass, according to a joint statement.

Seth Resources Petroleum will contribute expertise in fuel supply, distribution and logistics, while eMangweni Business Solutions brings oil and gas training experience from across Southern Africa.

BA ISAGO's Centre for Professional Development and Consultancy will oversee the academic component.

The initiative aims to build local capacity and expand citizen involvement in Botswana's energy sector as the country seeks to develop its hydrocarbons industry alongside clean energy sources.

The agreement runs for five years and is subject to renewal by mutual consent.
